How to look a tiny little bit more fashionable, for the very very unfashionable.
1. Shoes. Shoes indicate attention to detail. The military and job interview books agree with me. My college best friend and I ran all men through the “shoe test”; it is a valid indicator. So throw out those Birkenstocks. If you insist on “comfy,” buy a pair of Doc Marten’s, and wear them every day. Otherwise, buy nice looking shoes and wear them. Wear Them. Not on special occasions, not on weekends. Everyday. And please, no Teva’s no Birkenstocks, no hiking boots.
2. Cute haircut. Long and stringy is not cute. Washing hair is important too, and a wee bit of blow-drying if you’re really adventurous (it takes 3 minutes, come on), but most important is to go to a fashionable salon. You can ask for one that wont require much maintenance. You will pay $60, and it is worth it.
3. If the pants are too tight, stop wearing them. Really. Stop. No one likes to see that.
4. Never Ever wear sweat pants. Ever.
